Add topics in your own words
Type an interest and press Enter. Add as many topics as you like, remove a tag when it no longer fits, and update your selection while chatting. Try topics you actually want to discuss, such as photography, cooking or a favourite game.
Two clear matching modes
- Random
- You can match with anyone. Shared interests may help find common ground, but are not required.
- Interests only
- Only people who share at least one of these interests, with no fallback to unrelated people.
Changes apply to your next match
Editing interests does not end the conversation you are in. Your new preferences are used when you next search. Your choices are remembered in the same browser.
When the queue is quiet
Interests only can take longer because another person needs a matching topic. Add a broader interest, switch to Random or return later. Country preferences can broaden when fewer people are available; Interests only continues to require a shared topic.
Interests are conversation starters, not proof of identity or compatibility. Keep personal details out of your tags and follow the community rules.
