Camera or microphone will not start
- Check the browser’s site permissions for whodis.chat and allow the camera and microphone.
- Close other apps or tabs using the same camera, then retry Camera check.
- Check the camera selected in Settings. Make sure the device is connected and your operating system allows the browser to use it.
- Use a regular browser tab rather than an embedded browser inside another app. If you still cannot start video, try text chat.
The face check is not ready
Face the camera in even lighting and check that your face is visible in the preview. Avoid strong backlighting and make sure the selected camera is the one you intend to use. This readiness check is not identity or age verification.
Searching takes a long time
Searching means the service is looking for another available person. Interests only, strict language preferences and a small pool can all make the wait longer. Try Random mode and broader preferences. Repeatedly pressing Next does not create more available people.
A match appears, but video fails
A network may block the relay connection needed for video. Try another trusted network or temporarily compare Wi-Fi with mobile data. Calls do not fall back to a direct connection that exposes your network IP to your partner. If video still fails, use text chat and contact support with your browser, device and approximate time of the problem.
On a phone or tablet
Keep the chat tab open during a call. Locking the screen, switching apps or changing networks can interrupt camera access or disconnect the session. Close any open menu to return to the video controls. Use Stop before leaving when you want to finish chatting.
Report or get help
Use Report in the app for a conversation that breaks the rules. For technical help, email [email protected]. Do not email passwords or private video recordings. See Safety for advice about unwanted interactions.
